Day to Night: Formal Fever!

It is that time of year again when highschool leavers sit their last exams and prepare to embark on life in the real world, but no ship launch is complete without a night filled with glitz and glam. We've been through it before so we know how exciting it can be, but at the same time the damage it can do to your piggy banks! You probably are all thinking, "why should I spend a fortune on a dress that will never see the light of day again?" Well that was the exact question that was running through our heads. But never fear, this post will show you that your formal (or prom) dress doesn't have to be pushed to the back of your wadrobe, collecting dust after the big night.

It's time to dust off your dancing shoes and burn up the dance floor!!

Clutch: unknown (we've had it for yonks)

A great way to dress down a more formal dress is to throw on a denim jacket and swap your heels for a pair of comfy sandals.

How do you style your favourite formal dresses for a casual day out?

Off the catwalk: Blue and White

Fashion Week is the most anticipated event on the fashion calendar. Bevies of well-heeled celebrities and fashionistas descend on the world's biggest fashion capitals to get the first glimpse of the season's trends. Although we were not blessed with front row seats to any of the shows, we've been keeping a close eye on some of the fashion houses and their latest offerings.

One trend that has caught our eyes is the blue and white combination, which featured prominently in Matthew Williamson's collection. We were keen to take this trend from the catwalk and recreated it using some pieces we already had in our wardrobe.

Style Snag: In Awe of JLaw

Oscar winner and playing one of our favourite heroines, Jennifer Lawrence is clearly a busy woman. But even between planning a revolt against the Capitol and being the centre of a love triangle on our screens, JLaw still manages to be a victor in the fashion games. While we love her signature maxi skirt and casual tshirt looks, we decided to snag an outfit which is a little different for our Mockingjay.

Whose style do you want us to snag next? Also leave a comment if you’re avid Hunger Games fans like we are!!

Citrus Crush

When it comes to seasons and colours, we love to bend the rules. In fact we ignore them all together. While darker palettes are all the rage in the chillier months, we love our bright prints and colours. From the modest pastels to the loud neons, you shouldn't be afraid to embrace colours all year round either. Here's one way you can rock all the colours of the rainbow this season!

Heat wave

To our delight Sydney experienced a heat wave the other day. We took this opportunity to tan our veiny, sun deprived legs ready for Spring.  Here is what one of us wore. We love the look of light washed denim and floral prints.

Scarves are one of our favourite ways to accessorise in Spring. If you are scarf enthusisasts like us, then stay tuned for an upcoming post on how to style them this season.
